Given the low temperature and relative less humidity, incidence of insect pests and diseases in the cold arid region is very rare. However, incidence of codling moth, leaf curling aphid, defoliating caterpillar and gummosis are very common and cause major damages to the fruit trees.

The above data indicates that there is a considerable decrease in overall usage of fertilizer in the district. It has come down from 787 MT in 2015 to 532.7 MT in 2018.

Mitigation of Health & Public Health:

  • The nutritional requirement of all the children, expectant mothers and nursing mothers should be taken care of.
  • Care has to be taken to disinfect sources of drinking water to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases and plans need to be drawn up to cope with likely epidemics.
  • There is need for constant surveillance of public health measures including immunization to be undertaken.
  • The following Departments and Officers/Official shall be responsible for Epidemic control and animal disease
